For those of you that have been anxiously awaiting the weekly themes for the So You Think You Can Sew Contest-
HERE THEY ARE!!!
DRUMROLL PLEASE.......
I wanted to keep the categories pretty broad, so there is not going to be a whole lot of rules as far as the weekly themes go.
Week 1 {Top 12 contestants}: For the Home--- Basically anything that could be considered home decor/ could be displayed somewhere in your home.
Week 2 {Top 9 contestants}: Repurposed Items--- Taking something that is already existing and turning it into something else. {for example: taking an old t-shirt and turning it into a bag}
Week 3 {Top 6 contestants}: Apparel--- Anything that could be worn- clothing, bags, accessories, etc.
Week 4 {Top 3 contestants}: Contestant Choice--- ANYTHING GOES!!
Remember that this is a sewing competition so everything must be sewn {hand stitched or machine stitched}.
So get to brain storming and even get started sewing if you think you might make it to the top 12---BUT REMEMBER--- If you make it to the Top 12, all projects submitted for the 4 weeks of competition must be NEW projects and can not have been made sooner than November 10th, 2011!
If you haven't entered the CONTEST, you still have till November 30th to get your project submitted...

ReplyDeleteI've got a question about the contest. Can we use a pattern or do we need to come up with original patterns for entries? For apparel, I do much better with a pattern or even a sloper to start with.
Hi Stephanie... To enter the contest you can use whatever you could like {from pattern or an original idea}, If you make it to the top 12 no patterns- everything has to be from your own design.
