My name is Ashley. I love anything crafty... making my own decor, scrapbooking, crafts, sewing, photography, DIY projects... you name it and I wanna try it!
I am a stay at home mommy of 2 girls and a wife to the best husband in the world. I love being a mom! When I was growing up, whenever someone asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up I always answered "A mom." I can honestly say that being a mom is so much funner, greater, cooler than I thought it would be. I love being able to stay home with my girls everyday and teach them all they need to know about life. It's a big job, but I am so glad that I get to be the one for job!
In my spare time I love reading, watching movies, bargain shopping, and crafting of course!
Here are some random things about me:
*I'm a mormon.
*I am kinda a picky eater, but slowly growing out of it little by little.
*My favorite outfit is my pajamas.
*I hate plucking my eyebrows!
*I use men's Old Spice deodorant.
*I have been known to eat an entire bag of Spicy Nacho Doritos in one sitting...
*I am a beauty school dropout.
*When I was growing up I listened to the Tennis Shoes Among the Nephites series on tape every single night while I went to sleep for about 10 years.
*I am the oldest of 6 kids.
*I wrote in my journal when I was 11 years old that I wanted to marry my husband when I grew up.
*I have never broken any bones.
*I could eat Mexican food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner- every meal.
*I love watching food network.
*I have been an EFY counselor 2 times.
*I am not athletic. At. All.
*I am a little bit of a perfectionist.
*My favorite t.v. show is the Bachelor.
*I am pretty sure that I am getting shorter with age.
*I am scared of mice, snakes, spiders, and anything that swims in the ocean- whether it is dangerous or not!
*I have only been to one semester of college.
*I got married in the Salt Lake Temple in 2006.
*I have a hard time passing up a good sale.
*I was an orthodontic assistant for 2 years.
*I was the receptionist in a dental office for 3 1/2 years.
*I love to laugh.
*I love my family.

Why I blog
One of my favorite things to do in my spare time is look at blogs... Craft blogs, photo blogs, family blogs- you name it. I love that you can read someone's blog and get to know that person without ever having met them. I have made so many friends through blogging and as weird as it sounds- so many people have touched my life through their blogs.
I decided to create this blog because I needed an outlet to share my ideas, interests, and things I make. I had been posting my crafts on our private family blog, but since I would like to have our blog printed into family books, the last thing I want in the book are random crafts I have made. My crafting is not something that needed to be kept private. So thus- "Mommy by day... Crafter by night" came about. (The name was easy to come up with because it is pretty much a reality at this point- except that I am also a mommy by night too of course). Having this blog pushes me to keep my creative juices flowing... I am constantly thinking of things I wanna make and so if nothing else, this blog helps me to keep crafting on a regular basis.
My hope with this blog is that I can somehow inspire someone to try something new like so many blogs have inspired me to do. Thanks for stopping by! I love reading every comment I get and and I appreciate each new follower! Thanks guys!:)
