20 Minute DIY Christmas Wreath

If I had a nickel for every time someone said "I am not crafty" or "I am just not creative enough to craft" I would have A LOT more crafting supplies at my house! I hear it a lot!
Crafting doesn't always necessarily take "creativeness" to do {in my opinion}! These days we have all kinds of places to get creative ideas to copy cat... Pinterest  has about every idea you could think of- just waiting to be "pinned" and recreated!!

So for those who claim they can't craft because they "aren't creative enough"- here is the project for you! ANYONE can make this wreath- crafty or non-crafty!

I know some of you are probably thinking "We haven't even gotten to Thanksgiving yet- What in the heck is Ashley posting a Christmas wreath for??!?!?!"
Well let me tell you... In my house, Christmas time starts November 1st. Thanksgiving decor doesn't stand a chance in my house because I love Christmas WAY too much to ONLY have my Christmas decor up for one month! I love everything about Christmas! Honestly, if I had it my way- I would create a radio station that played Christmas music year round. Yep- I admit it... I am one of THOSE weird people. You can blame my dad- it was practically drilled into my head growing up. Bing Crosby's White Christmas can still frequently be heard at my family's house in the summer heat of June. LOVE IT!

Well- know that you all know my dark secret, that I am an "All Things Christmas- Especially Christmas Music Junkie"-
Here is how I created this Semi Homemade Christmas Wreath in 20 minutes flat!
 Supplies:
Grapevine Wreath (mine is 24 inches)
Ribbon (I got mine at Hobby Lobby for 50% off)
Florist Wire
Christmas Sign (got mine for 50% off at Hobby Lobby)
A Floral Swag (got mine for 40% off at Joann- you can find these in the wreath section)

That's it- No glue gun involved even!

To start- Lay your floral swag on top of the bottom of the wreath. Cut 4-5 long pieces of the wire and wiggle the wire in between the branches and flowers of the swag and around the wreath in 4-5 places evenly spaced along the swag. Once you have gotten it snug against the wreath, twist the wire a handful of times to secure it.
After it is twisted, clip the excess wire off and bend the twisted part up into the wreath.

Once the floral part of the wreath is secured, do the same to secure the sign to the top of the wreath. Make sure it is centered.
{Tip: I think it is easiest to do this part if you hang the wreath up and eyeball the center while it is hanging}
Once you twist the wires to secure it, clip the excess and bend the twisted part up into the wreath to hide it.
I fell in love with this sign when I saw it at Hobby Lobby since the bird is kinda 3D- it pokes up off the sign.. Super cute! The fact that is was 50% off sealed the deal!

After everything is secured with wire, you can add the ribbon. There is no rhyme of reason to this part. Just make it look how you want it to. Add a bow on top, wrap it around the wreath, whatever your heart desires!
Since my ribbon had wire in it and was pretty bendy, I just kinda weaved it around the top of the wreath and used the grapevines to secure it.

That's it! Super easy and super fast!
AND- since it is all just wired to the wreath, if I get sick of it and want to rearrange it next year, I can do it very easily!

I think it looks absolutely gorgeous on my front door! LOVE IT! :)
Have I got you in the Christmas Spirit yet?? ;)

Foolproof Wreath

I love making wreaths. I think they are so cute and they don't have to be hard to make. Sometimes the cutest wreaths are very simple.

One of the easiest ways to make a wreath is to find a garland of something that you like and hook it to a wreath... I found these little berry garlands a couple years ago at Tai Pan and kinda went crazy with them. I have them in my decor, I use a few strands of them on my Christmas Tree, and then I decided to make a wreath out of them.

So I bought a grapevine wreath (looks like sticks) at Hobby Lobby with a 50% off coupon.
*Always check online for coupons before you go shopping to a store like Roberts, Hobby Lobby, Joann, Michaels, etc! Saves you big bucks!*
Then get about 3 or 4 garlands, depending on how full and how long the garlands are.

At first I tried wrapping the garland around the wreath but it was getting to be too bulky and I was running out of garland fast so I decided to bend the garland to make a circle on the face of the wreath. Every couple inches I would take one of the little individual berry strands and wrap it around a part of the wreath to secure it. No gluing involved and technically if I wanted, I could take the garlands off the wreath and use them for something else since they aren't glued to it.
If your garland isn't wired then you could get some florist wire and use little pieces of that to secure your wreath to the branches of the wreath.

Easy Peasy!
Endless possibilities!

Spring Wreath

My ward has a craft group and we get together once  month and craft, eat, talk, and laugh.
Usually we talk so much that none of us ever finish our crafts!

In April while I was home visiting family they made wreaths and I had them save mine for me to make once I got home. It was such a great idea and everyone's wreaths turned out so cute and so different even though we all used the same materials!

Crafting together in a group is so fun because you are able to see each other's ideas as you make your own- plus it is SO FUN! It's one of my favorite things each month!

Pink and Blue Rolled Flower Wreath

I was introduced to rolled flowers about two months ago and now I can't get enough of them! I love them and decided to make an entire wreath out of them... Not a quick venture in the least! I watched half a season of 24 on netflix while I worked on this puppy! Each night when my girls went to bed I worked on it for an hour or two and slowly but surely it came along... Here is the finished product!

She sells seashells by the seashore...

I pretty much love all things nautical. I secretly wish I lived in a beach house on the beach surrounded by navy and white striped decor, anchors, and sand. Yep- sounds heavenly!

Sadly it's not in the cards for me at this time, but one step into my guest bathroom and I swear I can smell the ocean breeze... ok not really, but a girl can wish a little right?

I wanted to come up with a wreath that was different, and I am sure that I am not the first to hot glue sea shells to a wreath, but here is my attempt at a nautical feeling wreath.

I love it. Plus it cost me about $15 to make. Not too shabby. The only thing that would make it better was if I picked those shells up out of the sand myself! Thankfully Hobby Lobby had me covered there!
