Strawberry Sunki Leggings

I was so excited when Meg over at the Fabric Fairy offered to sent me some Briar Rose knit to try out. These strawberries are serious darling! I knew right away what I wanted to make with them... Everyone needs the perfect pair of strawberry leggings, right? ;)

(polka dot chambray tunic from carters)
I used a pattern to make the leggings that I had on hand... they are the leggings that accompany the Sunki Dress
My daughter is 4 years old so I made the 4/5 size. I was hoping to do the version of leggings that were gathered on the sides of the bottom of the pants that are featured in the pattern, but once the leggings were put together and I tried them on my daughter I realized that they were on the verge of being too short already so there was no way the gathered bottom was going to work and not be an awkward length. (next time I will do a combo with the length of the 6/7 but stick with the 4/5 width.)

I loved working with this jersey knit. It is just darling and there are so many projects you could make with it. Heather Ross offers a free pattern to make leggings- I just used the sunki leggings since I had the pattern already printed out.

I have one other project that I am working on with the knit Fabric Fairy sent me... I am super excited with how it is turning out! I can't wait to share it with you!

  1. I think I might need some strawberry leggings... :)

  2. My daughter and I was just talking last night about printed leggings! I love these, I think even an adult could pull them off! Adorable

  3. They are just adorable. I love that fabric collection. Did you use a serger?

  4. Love that fabric! Such cute leggings. I wish the Fabric Fairy would send me fabric too. :)

Thanks for taking the time to comment. I honestly love reading every single one! If you have a question you would like answered- be sure to include your email so that I can get back to you!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day!
