Hello! This is Ashley's friend Rachel, from Family Ever After. We all love and adore Ashley. While she is taking some time off, I've organized a series involving some of her favorite bloggers. Over the next couple weeks, you can check in with some of the internet's most adored bloggers, and find out what makes them think outside the blog. We love you Ashley, and look forward to your return!
I’m Kari and I blog over at Ucreate.
I love the idea of this “Thinking outside the blog” series and I’m excited to share what inspires me when I’m not behind my computer blogging and working.
Here we go…
I have a passion for reading and I love all sorts of books. I actually collect children’s books and one of our family favorites is “Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus” by Mo Willems.
I love to read young adult fiction and I just finished The Lightning Thief series. Classic romances also have a place in my heart and I can’t believe I waited until I was 34 to read Jane Eyre…you’ll always find a book or two on my nightstand!
I’m definitely inspired by being outside in nature!
My mind is clear when it’s not so overloaded with everyday tasks and confusion. I love to take the kids to the park as much as I can when it’s warm outside and we love to go on a camping trip a couple of times a year. This picture was taken at our Yellowstone National Park trip last year…”take your breath away” beautiful there!
Few things on this planet inspire me more than my children do. I feel huge amounts of joy (and pressure!) to be a good mom to them. They deserve it! I fall short many times believe me, but they inspire me to keep going forward during difficult times, they make me laugh daily by the innocent things they say, and they make me try my best (and they don’t even know it)!
Ashley I’m so sorry to hear about your loss and may God bless you and your family with comfort and peace. What a great friend Rachel is to set this series up for you…you are both lucky to have each other!
Thank you for having me today and for letting me share a little about what I do when I’m not behind the computer screen.
Lots of Love,
