Holiday Traditions: Lolly Jane

Hey there MBYCBN readers!
We are excited to be a part of Ashley's holiday traditions series :)

My twin sister Kristi & I blog at Lolly Jane,
an eclectic site filled with crafts, DIY's, home improvement projects, decor, furniture revamps and occasionally a recipe or two.

But today I'm going to share with you some of my favorite Christmas traditions.  Something my cute mother-in-law has always done for her kids we have adopted into our own little family of 6.  Starting on Christmas Eve, we let the children open one gift {containing festive jammies} and read a Christmas story with them:

Last year's book was "The Grinch Who Stole Christmas" and was paired with a grinch doll.  The kiddo's loved it :)

We are lucky to live close to the Mesa temple, which hosts a spectacular light show each year, complete with a nativity and live chorus.  We load up on freshly baked cinnamon rolls and hot cocoa to enjoy a chilly evening together oooh'ing and aaah'ing at the pretty lights:

Although Christmas has become more geared towards the kids, we adults still have fun, too!  Each year we get together with the majority of our 40 cousins and their families and listen to our oldest brothers story of the spanglish "Twas the Night Before Christmas" and oh yes, that was all of my sisters and I playing the cup game... you know, tap clap flip repeat?  Oh, you don't know that game?  Maybe it's just a weird Payne family tradition ;)

Want to know the best gift we get each Christmas morning?
Sonic drinks!

Thanks again for having us Ash!
We would  for you to stop by our FB page, tweet with us or take a peek at our Pinterest boards.

Merry Christmas!
