GIVEAWAY: Cut It Out Frames

THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED
I just recently found one of my favorite companies EVER! I came across Cut It Out Frames and immediately fell in love. I have been seeing these type of decorative frames over the past year and could never bring myself to pay the price that other companies are charging for them. Once I saw Cut It Out's prices I was sold! I could not believe how inexpensive they were compared to the other ones I have been seeing around! Take a look at these prices...

4x6": $5.99
5x7": $8.99
8x8": $10.99
8x10": $12.99
11x14": $17.99
16x20": $24.99
20x30": $35.99

I mean really- you can not beat that! So affordable. There are 7 designs to choose from. These would be the perfect Christmas gift! And if you place your order by December 10th you can get your shipment in time for Christmas!
I just picked out 4 frames and received them in the mail this weekend and I could not wait to get my hands on them and start creating!
I choose an 8x10 Grafton, Newport, & Chandler. And then also got an 11x14 Balboa. After seeing them all in person, I have to say that although I love all the shapes, I definitely {heart} the Grafton shape the most! I wanna order a super big frame in the Grafton shape and put a new family picture in it. I think it would be so darling!

I plan to makeover my master bedroom and have been planning on creating a wall full of frames and these will look perfect along side the others I have collected! I can't wait to get them all hung!

With one of the 8x10 frames I got (chandler), I thought it would be fun to cover the front of the frame in paper to give it a little pizazz... So since it is bigger than a piece of scrapbook paper, I used thick wrapping paper from World Market.
I started by painting the very edges of the frame on the outside edge and the inside edge with a mustard yellow color.

Then I laid the frame face down on the wrapping paper and used a pencil to trace around the edges of the frame. If you use a pencil then you can fit it underneath the edge of the frame and actually trace the smallest edge of the frame. Don't worry if the paper isn't perfect or the exact shape of the frame. On the last step, you can fix any imperfections.
Once I had the paper cut out in the shape of the frame, I used modgepodge and painted a thin layer on the face of the frame and then smoothed the paper out on top of the modgepodge. I think it is a lot easier to control the air bubbles if you just do small portions at a time, instead of painting the entire frame and then laying the paper on to smooth it.
After the paper is on the frame, I laid it upside down on a flat surface and put heavy things on top of the frame to insure that it dried flat. Once it was dried, I used a sanding block and sanded the edges of the paper and it took off any excess paper that was hanging over the edges of the frame.
That's it! Super easy!
